It is a Bird, It’s a Plane, Oh My – It’s a Tugboat!

What:  Olympia Harbor Days Drone Over the Westbay of Budd Inlet

When:  Thursday, August 29: pre-event preview at 9:30 PM
Friday, August 30: drone show at 9:30PM (docks will be closed at sunset)

Festival Hours:
Friday, August 30:  5PM to 9:30PM
Saturday, August 31:  10AM to 7PM walk aboard touring from 10AM to 5PM
Sunday, September 1:  10AM to 6PM Tugboat races in Budd Inlet at noon

Viewing:  Best drone show viewing is from the East or West and will appear distorted as you move North or South. Recommended viewing areas include Percival Landing Boardwalk near the park, the Port Plaza and the Westbay Park north end of Westbay Drive. Olympia Harbor Days Community Radio Partner KXXO MIXX 96.1 will broadcast compatible music which will be projected from both festival stages and aired live so folks at home can listen. Who: The show is hosted by the South Sound Maritime Heritage Association, a local nonprofit and host of Olympia Harbor Days and sponsored by Anthony’s Homeport and Hearthfire Grill, Budd Bay Café, The Olympia Oyster House, Rivers Edge, Ron Thomas Architecture, Umpqua Bank, and the Olympia Downtown Alliance.

Producers Note: The show may be able to be seen from upper floors of downtown water facing apartment buildings and other nearby locations. Please understand this is a first time event for Olympia and all visibility locations are unknown. The public is welcome to check out locations during the pre-event preview on Thursday 8/29/24 however Olympia Harbor Days is not open on Thursday. Budd Bay Café and Anthony’s Homeport and Hearthfire Grill are offering special event seating at their locations on Friday. Please contact those businesses for details.
